This article discusses the recently elected Believe student ticket to the SGA leadership positions. This is the first all-African-American student government elected and included over five-thousand voters favoring their election. The Believe ticket has also stressed discussion on transparency and diversity on the University of Georgia Campus. This relates to diversity because the Believe ticket is the first representative ticket of a significant number of students who attend UGA, who are doubly committed to promoting diversity on campus beyond the "Diversity Clause" on freshman applications. Political representation, even in student governments, is essential for groups otherwise marginalized in University academia.
